If you're looking to add a charitable element to your gifts this year, then the NSPCC's Christmas campaign may be a good place to start. You can arrange to receive letters from Santa, to send business and personal Christmas cards by email, to give charity gifts via donations and to donate directly by shopping with preferred partners. What does the campaign offer?
Get a Letter From Santa From the NSPCC
You can arrange to have Father Christmas send a letter to your child for a suggested donation to the NSPCC of just £5. The letters have been illustrated for the charity by Jason Chapman, come in a themed envelope and can be personalised with your child's name, age, gender and address. You can choose from various age-based templates and, if you are ordering for more than one child, can make sure that they all receive different letters. The site also offers a Baby's First Christmas letter for the under-ones.
NSPCC letters from Santa can be ordered for UK or overseas addresses. Closing dates for orders for the Republic of Ireland or international locations is the 1st of December. The regular deadline for domestic deliveries is the 17th of December.
Replace Business Christmas Cards With Corporate eCards
Although businesses commonly use charity Christmas cards, they can take this one step further and boost the cash donated by sending NSPCC eCards instead. The nine cards on offer can be customised with messages, logos and web links and also come with a seasonal video from the charity.
In return, the charity will be given a £1 donation for every recipient (subject to a minimum spend of £500 + VAT). Businesses that prefer to send real cards or their own eCards can arrange to pay to use the NSPCC logo at the same donation limits if they prefer. The charity also offers a personal eCard service at no cost.
Shop and Give With NSPCC Christmas Shopping
The charity is also running a partnership program with various online stores. If you use the NSPCC's links to shop on these sites, then a donation will be made by the retailer based on the amount you spend. Partners currently include Amazon, Mothercare, eBay, Early Learning Centre, Hamleys, Debenhams, ToysRUs and Waterstones.
Give Charity Gifts and Donations With Christmas Baubles
If you want to give charity Christmas gifts, then you could use this campaign to "celebrate and give". Here, you make a donation on behalf of the gift recipient and they will be sent a personalised card and a pop out decoration to hang on their tree. Or, if you simply wish to make a donation yourself, then you can also do this via the NSPCC Christmas website.
